About Me

Kia Ora Koutou Katoa , My name is Lewis Trembath from Christchurch .

I am new to this site and wished to share with you a precious and truthful story of one of my dear friends Mr Cliff Curtis.

People dont believe me when I mention this in conversations , but we met at the opening of Maaori Television in 2003 , I think , my late wife Christine lost her long battle with cancer on Valentines day eve of 2006 , we were married 20 years and when we were there at the opening, we bumped in to him ( Cliffie ;)  for the first time. I still keep in touch from time to time . He was saddened to her of my late wifes passing and sent flowers from overseas. around the time her was working on a secret project about cavemen. I joked with him saying ... oh no Cliff , youv'e not been roped in to doing another Fred Flintstone sequel have you? your too black to be Barney rubble ! he still laughs st that one . Of course i'm referring to 10000 BC  . NOT HIS BEST  , IN MY HUMBLE ARROGANT  OPINION . hE'D LAUGH AT THAT  .

but hey you couldn't meet a nicer Maori man evr . A very humble person. So u all know and the wold knows my  little secret .

If asked nicely  , I will not be giving out his private cell number or his agents either . Sorry , but I promised him and I 'm sticking to that firmly. Well here is the money shot I took It is very precious to my heart for obvious reasons.  bye and chow and Haere raa koutou katoa  LOU

Tena koe e hoa. Didnt think there were to many people shorter than Tem! Yeah I know the Mohi whanau, grew up with them, My mums cousins with Mita Mohi who runs the Taiaha programme on Mokoia Island in Rotorua. There was a cool interview with Cliff and Tem on the area, they must have been promoting Rotorua. Im pretty sure Cliff went to school with Patrick Mohi at Edmund Rice, Me and his sister Deana went to the girls school next door. Everyone has pretty fond mermories of Cliff from those days. My sister went out with one of Cliffs good mates one of the Lowes and his Dad Bob Lowe married my husband and I last year at Rakeiao marae (which is where we are all from) . Such a small world! Im sure Cliff would be touched to know he has had such a wonderful effect on your whanau. Meanwhile ive gotten hold of the whanau back home to get hold of him. Thanks for your korero. How is life for you now?

Tena koe e hoa! Arohamai for the passing of your beautiful wife. Yes Cliffie definately is humble always has been. I fully understand about the number i will catch up with him eventually I just had Brandons 15th birthday and would have been cool for him to hear from his hero. Cliffie would be proud Brandon met Temuera and all he was intrested in talkin to him about was Cliff! Tem wasnt sure how to take the young man who braved the crowds in Sydney just to say " You know my uncle" If you knew Tem youd know how funny that is! We are all very proud as a whanau at all Cliff has done not only for the Curtis name but all young Maori with a dream. Im not surprised he had such a big effect on you and your wife he is that typeof person. My son just got dianoised with dyslexia so his dream of being an actor has a few more obstacles but he wont let that get to him! Funny coinciedence with what you do for a living i work with troubled teens. I actually work for a Kohanga Reo here in Brisbane and part of our programme is teaching a Takahia programme in Juneville Dentention. Intrestin the mahi u and your wife did. Weather is great as usual!

Hi Scott, Sorry to hear that you lost your wife through Cancer, and yes, I am glad that Someone as special as Cliff is ( IMHO) was there to help you through the ordeal. I've watched all his movies, and would go to the cinema just to see a movie with Cliff in it, even a small part..I'm Biased LOL.
I can't have his cell phone? Oh no, I'm am like, so disappointed ;) I would like to personally tell him, "Move over Brad Pitt, Cliff is in town"
!0,000 BC, I like it, but the writers phased Cliff out too soon, loved Whale Rider, River Queen, and Collateral Damage. I was hoping the Wolf would escape hehe.
Thanks again, and lovely to meet you in here, Aroha to you and your Whanau, miss my homeland more each day too.

Welcome
